Are You Right With God?

Are You Right With God?

In todays society there exist a great confusion as to what it means to be approved by God or to be "Right With God".

For example, it is believed by many that simply doing good acts such as, helping others, being kind, going to church, being spiritual, practicing charity and loving others can gain  Gods approval and his blessings. The truth however is that in Gods Word the Bible, simply "being good" or "doing good things" is not the same as being "Right With God" or "Righteous" where the fullness of his blessings and spiritual provisions apply to you.

Let's now examine closely what the Bible teaches about what it means to be "Right With God"and what that means for all of us.

The Bible makes it clear that humans being are born in a sinful condition and due to that we have a natural tendency to do bad or wrong things and to violate the laws and expectations of our Creator & Father in Heaven.  Here are some scripture to consider:

Romans 5:12 "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned"

Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"

Psalms 51:5  "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

1 John 1:8-10 " If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

These scripture emphasize the point that man-kind has a problem with sin or lawlessness towards our Creator and we aim to satisfy our own desires rather than the desires of God. The problem with "sin" is that not only does it make our life more challenging when we do sinful things but ultimately sin or lawlessness towards Gods laws, leads to death.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Fortunately for us, our God And The Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ has created a plan & provision through His Son, that can remedy the curse of sin and death on mankind and make us "Right With God" opening back the doors to Gods love and Eternal provisions in Life promised to those who believe and obey His Son.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

John 3:17 " For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

The hard truth is that no matter how good we think we are and no matter how much good we do, Gods approval and blessings can only be credits to those who show faith & obedience in His Son, Jesus Christ and no other way.

John 3:36 "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.".

Acts 4:12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Jesus Christ through his Life, Death & Resurrection according to the Bible is the true provision that God our Father made to deal with the problem of "Sin" for mankind, and this is because the scriptures decrees at Hebrews 9:22  that "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." So Jesus came and offered himself as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind thus creating reconciliation and redemption of the relationship between us and our God, His Father and through that preserve the life indefinitely of those who have faith in his name and obey his words.

John 10:10 "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

John 14:23 "Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
Romans 5:8-11 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation."
So indeed to be "Right With God" or "Approved By God" according to the Bible means to believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and obey his words. Outside of this the scriptures makes it clear that Gods wrath still remains on us and our standing with him due to sin is not good. This means that our prayers, petitions for blessings and other good things we expect or hope from God goes largely unanswered or unaddressed by Him due to the condition of the relationship in not accepting and following His Son.
Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear."
If we truly desire to be "Right With God" reflect on these words and make the necessary steps in establishing a true, meaningful and lasting relationship with Our Father in Heaven through His Son Jesus Christ and thus come to enjoy both now and in the age to come, the abundant love, blessings and life that God has promised to those who love him.
1 Corinthians 2: 9
"However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him"
